Coulee Creek Safety Team provides appropriate recognized training courses to anywhere training is needed.  We employ instructors with real-world experience, who show they care about the fields they instruct. We believe that success starts with safety.

GARY AYRE, CEO

Gary Ayre was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario and came to Fort Simpson, NWT as a Steam Engineer for NCPC in 1968 and 1969. Following his marriage to Elaine, he completed a Mount Royal College course in correctional work and got his class two steam engineer’s certificate. After a serious H2S accident in 1972, went to University of Calgary to complete a Teaching degree. He taught junior high Industrial Arts, Special Education, leadership skills. He obtained his First Aid Instructors certificate and has done this for many years as a sideline until his retirement from the school system when he set up Coulee Creek Safety.  He contracted for Safetyman in Airdrie and Irwin Safety in Calgary, enlarging his areas of instruction as he went along.

ELAINE MELBY AYRE, President

Elaine Melby Ayre was born in northern Saskatchewan and her family moved to a farm in southern Saskatchewan, her BScHE 1965 from Luther College and University of Saskatchewan, taught three years before returning to complete her B Ed degree in 1969. She taught Home Economics at Fort Simpson 1969-1971. She and Gary were married in July 1970 and spent their honeymoon at a Boy Scout Jamboree, the start of their amazing adventures- teaching Junior High Home Ec until her retirement in 1998, raising three sons, in 2015 she published “The Princess Doll’s Scrapbook” and is currently completing her grandfather’s homesteading story.

NATE AYRE, Vice President/Instructor

Nate Ayre was born in Calgary and moved with his parents, to Water Valley during the primary grades, and later to Linden, completing his high school at Olds, Alberta early 2001. He held a variety of farming, construction and industrial related jobs.  He has a family with his partner & 3 children. Since joining the team,  Nate has become a certified instructor in all the courses we offer.

KAITLYNN COATES,  First Aid Instructor, Food Safety Instructor & Basic Life Support Instructor

Born and raised on a cattle farm near Brownvale. Kaitlynn still lives near Brownvale, now on a Saskatoon/Chokecherry farm. Together Kaitlynn and her partner are raising 4 wonderful children who are heavily involved in 4H and Alley Cats Skipping Club.

KERRI COWAN, Administration
Born in Ontario and moved to Peace River in the early years.  Worked on the Shaftsberry Ferry for 12 years and then drove school bus.  She worked at Heritage Towers for a few years before coming to join Coulee Creek as the Administration Assistant.  Kerri is the front line person who handles all customer service, bookings and invoicing.

KATHY MORRIS, Manager

Born and raised in Fort Vermilion - Rocky Lane to be exact, moved to Peace River in 2008 with her 3 children.  She joined us in 2022 and now handles the office management, advertising , HR & Accounting.
